From Figma to WeWeb: my first low-code integration as a UX/UI Designer
November 20, 2025

In this article I share my experience as a UX/UI Designer at ezacae: my journey from Figma to WeWeb, and what I learned about collaboration between designers and developers in a low-code environment.
A formative and stimulating experience
It was a first for me: taking my Figma mockups all the way to a working site directly in WeWeb.
A real dive into low-code, somewhere between design and development.
Thanks to my background in HTML/CSS and the WeWeb-Figma no-code plugin, getting up to speed was far smoother than expected.
The vocabulary (“Container”, “Div”, “Layout”, “Padding”, “Margin”…) was already familiar, so I quickly found my footing and genuinely enjoyed integrating the pages.
An enriching collaboration with my developer colleagues
Throughout the project, I could count on the support of my developer colleagues, always patient, pedagogical, and happy to share their tips.
They introduced me to dynamic formulas and structuring best practices, showing me how to recreate my Figma library the WeWeb way, building components and variables.
Beyond the technical skills, this collaboration helped me better understand their constraints, move past the infamous “that’s not feasible”, and discover the subtleties of the low-code production cycle.
Rethinking pixel-perfection in favour of responsive design
On the design side, this experience changed how I think about the boundary between conception and integration.
I spent a long time chasing pixel-perfect rendering, before realising that wasn’t always the goal.
Integration tools like WeWeb operate on different logic to keep everything responsive: you work in percentages and “auto”, not pixels.
And I discovered that you can gain flexibility without losing visual quality: some modules like the FAQ, for instance, were ready to use, modular, efficient and customisable.
A new evolution of my role
This experience genuinely changed how I see my job.
I no longer limit myself to “doing design”: I think product, I think construction, I think integration.
I now design my mockups anticipating from the start the constraints linked to their integration.
I speak the developers’ language more fluently, and I feel more autonomous in bringing my ideas to life.
Discovering WeWeb gave me a foot in the dev world without leaving the design world.
I found a new playground: a space where logic meets creativity, where I can both imagine, structure and deliver.
This experience also taught me to better organise my projects: thinking in reusable components, coherent flows, maintainable structures.
In short, a new way of creating: more global, more organised, and more connected to the reality of the product.
I look forward to continuing to explore this approach to bring beautiful, useful and technically solid experiences to life.
A big thank you to ezacae and the whole team for their trust, kindness and this fantastic journey of skill-building!
